It all started when three Boulder, Colorado based founders decided to develop and market an innovative type of footwear called CROCS shoes.

Originally, CROCS were intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant, non-marking sole. By 2003 CROCS had become a bona-fide phenomenon, universally accepted as an all purpose shoe for comfort and fashion.

From 2003-2004 CROCS focused on accommodating our remarkable growth while maintaining control. We have expanded our product line, added warehouses and shipping programs for speedy assembly and delivery, hired a senior management team and acquired Foam Creations.

Today, CROCS are available all over the world and on the internet as we continue to significantly expand all aspects of our business.



Despite our rapid success, we still stand behind the core values of CROCS Footwear. We are committed to making a lightweight, comfortable, slip-resistant, fashionable and functional shoe, which can be produced quickly and at an affordable price to our customers. Why name a shoe CROCS?
We came up with the name CROCS because crocodiles are tough and strong animals with no natural predators. Crocodiles are equally good in land and water and live for a very long time, a great description of our CROCS shoes!
Of what material are CROCS made?
A material we call Proprietary Closed Cell Resin (PCCR) which is NOT plastic NOR rubber. PCCR is closed-cell in nature and anti-microbial, which virtually eliminates odor.
