BUBBLE LONDON
Kid`s trade fair BUBBLE LONDON.

BUBBLE LONDON`s philosophy is to bring a new generation of kids trade show to the marketplace. Each event is carefully conceived as a focused trade show in a wonderful space, where retailers can meet exhibitors from every aspect of the kid`s world: clothing to toys, shoes, accessories and more.

Bubble London runs twice yearly in January and July in sync with the European calendar, and is the only standalone children`s trade event in the UK. It has grown from 60 exhibitors at its launch to over 280 carefully selected collections last season. Throughout this growth, the intimate atmosphere, the attention to detail and the human dimension of the shows have never been compromised. Bubble has become an international reference on the trade show circuit, a must-visit event for anyone with a keen eye on the fast changing and very exciting children`s market.

BUBBLE LONDON: VISITOR NUMBERS UP BY 37% FOR THE AW16 EDITION.

8 Feb 2016. The Business Design Centre in Islington once again played host to Bubble London, the UK’s biggest and best baby and kids’ tradeshow. British and international brands were showcased under one roof to present their AW16 collections and this season was better than ever with lots of exciting additions including new launches and exclusives.

(*Compared with s/s 2016)

Exhibitors remarked on the number of new accounts they had opened at the show, which reflected an overall increase in the number of new start-ups attending. Here are a few quotes from just some of Bubble’s exhibitors:

“This was the first time Brand Stable exhibited at Bubble. We showcased three of our brands - Guess, Trussardi and Liu-Jo - and were delighted with the response. We will definitely be exhibiting next season, and will be bringing even more of our brands to the show!” Daniele Sismondi.

“We did fantastic business on the Sunday, with amazing repeat orders. Last season, we mainly took UK orders at the show. This season saw a similar repeat in terms of UK buyers, but with the addition of overseas customers from China and Italy.” Georgie Parr, Dotty Dungarees.

“This season’s Bubble had a very positive buzz. We had a great show in terms of sales from both repeat and new business. We also saw some good international buyers, namely from the Middle East. The show attracted some new key business this season.” Gareth Griffiths, The Bonnie Mob.

“We were extremely happy with the show as it was such great value for money. We got a strong return on our investment. We came away with lots of leads and also took several orders at the show. POP worked for us as a new brand, serving as a launch-pad and giving us great visibility. We are hoping to return in June!” Pamela Badham, Nod. POP exhibitor.

Here are a few quotes from buyers who attended this edition of Bubble:

“I came to Bubble because I am looking for inspiration. I found a really nice footwear brand and a skincare label. I also love From Babies With Love, winner of the Rising Star Award.” Helen Schouwenaar, Miniverse (Amsterdam).

“It’s the range of brands that brings us back to Bubble every season. The show is always very vibrant and we come to see what’s new and to pick up new labels.” Jillian Petrie, Young Trend (Wilshaw).

“This is our third time at Bubble. We find it easier to look at collections in one place. When you go from showroom to showroom, there’s a risk of duplicating. We come to pick up new products and this season, there was a really nice mix of different brands.” Suzie Neill, Bahoo Shoes (Malvern).

The new additions to Bubble proved to be extremely popular with the panel discussions on both days drawing in some of the biggest crowds. The Mothers Mean Business panel chaired by Little London’s Kate Finney provided insights from working mums Caprice, Pearl Lowe and Jasmine Guinness; the Instagram Mums panel chaired by Smallish magazine’s Estelle Lee enabled visitors to the show to learn how to engage better with influencers on Instagram; and the Buyers Guide panel chaired by trends consultant Fiona Coleman saw buyers from Childrensalon, Fenwick and Elias & Grace giving visitors an insight into the world of a buyer.

The Rising Star award, which is open to first time exhibitors, was hotly contended this season. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the award provides brands a chance to raise their profile, engage with retailers and gain invaluable feedback – as well as a free stand at Bubble’s next edition. The AW16 winner was From Babies With Love, a baby brand whose profits go around the world to help abandoned children. Finalists included Avery Row, Chic Smart Clothes, Dear Eco, Nod, Outside the Lines and Panda & Ping.

Bubble London’s Show Director Lindsay Hoyes says, “We are delighted with how well this season has gone. The overall mood was extremely positive and many of the exhibitors told us about some excellent orders that were placed at the show over the two days. We worked hard to provide visitors with an enhanced experience, ranging from the addition of POP - our curated area that brought emerging designers and small and innovative labels together in a standout space - to securing some key brands including Guess and Catimini, which were very popular amongst the visitors.

We are already looking forward to next season which will include the launch of Bubble Bump, an area dedicated to maternity and nursery products, which 28% of existing visitors to Bubble have already indicated an interest in.”

Bubble’s SS17 edition will once again take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington from Sunday 19 to Monday 20 June 2016.
